Who they hire

SolarEdge's intake skews EE-Power, which is structurally narrow in the Israeli candidate pool. The Technion EE-Power track and Ben-Gurion EE-Energy track are the dominant feeders; Tel Aviv University EE and Bar-Ilan EE round it out. Most candidates have undergraduate or graduate-level coursework in switching power supplies, magnetic components, or motor drives — generic 'EE' framing without one of these depth signals filters slowly. The Herzliya HQ + Hod Hasharon offices serve commute belts that overlap with Tel Aviv tech, which means EE-Power students who would otherwise be at NVIDIA Yokneam or Mellanox-legacy teams have a real local option here. English is the working language for cross-region collaboration with US / EU operations.

The process

Pipeline runs through Greenhouse. After CV screen — typically 14–21 days for student tracks, slower than commercial SaaS because the EE-Power-specific reviewers are a smaller group — successful candidates hit a domain technical interview (switching topology + magnetics + control loop questions calibrated to student level). A second round walks through your most recent power-electronics project + a MATLAB/Simulink modeling discussion. Manager fit closes the loop. Total time from CV to offer is 4–6 weeks. The Herzliya commute is non-trivial from south Tel Aviv but easy from Ra'anana / Herzliya residential — addressing this realistically up front avoids a soft rejection.

SolarEdge CV — what to include

Lead with one switching-power-supply or grid-tie-inverter project — academic, hobby, or competition-level. The EE-Power specificity is what unlocks the screen.
List MATLAB / Simulink / PLECS / LTspice with a project that used each. Power-electronics-specific simulation tooling is the giveaway that you're real, not generic-EE.
If you've worked with WBG (wide-bandgap) semiconductors — SiC, GaN — say so. SolarEdge's newer designs lean WBG and the candidate pool is shallow.
Mention any photovoltaic / battery-management system project. The product surface is solar + storage; relevance reads concrete.
Address the Herzliya / Hod Hasharon commute realistically. Local candidates have a structural advantage; Tel-Aviv-based candidates should explicitly note willingness to relocate or commute.
Cite EE-Power coursework explicitly: switching power supplies, magnetics, motor drives, electric machines, control of power electronics. Generic 'EE' coursework framing reads as ambiguous.

Listing a digital-only stack (FPGAs, SoCs, embedded software) without an analog or magnetics piece. SolarEdge's product surface is mixed-signal; pure-digital reads as off-fit.
Hebrew-only CV. SolarEdge is global; English-first or bilingual CV is the norm.
Generic 'sustainability interest' in cover letter. Specific is better — 'I worked on a 5kW grid-tie inverter prototype as my BSc capstone' beats 'I care about clean energy'.
Missing the EE-Power-specific tooling stack. CVs without MATLAB/Simulink/PLECS/LTspice exposure read as if you've never simulated a power converter.

SolarEdge fills this gap.
Wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductor design — SiC and GaN power devices — is concentrated in newer SolarEdge platforms. Junior candidates with even hobby-level WBG exposure (EVAL boards, application-note designs) have a genuine asymmetric advantage because the candidate pool is shallow.
